Grayson Smith

A Graphic Designer since 2006. Based in Seattle, WA
I bring value to in-house marketing, product and enterprise teams with clear and bold visual communication solutions.

Ookla

Every day, Speedtest users actively initiate over ten million unique tests at the locations and times that are important to them. Since the company founding in 2006, Speedtest has conducted over 45 billion tests. That is a lot of valuable data providing a lot of valuable insights for peers in the connectivity space across the globe.

I have been with Ookla as a Graphic Designer since 2016, I am currently the Lead Graphic Designer for marketing, heading up all marketing design projects, ensuring appropriate priority, resources and consistency across all product brands; Speedtest, Ekahau, Downdetector and Rootmetrics.

Bloodworks Northwest

I worked with this non-profit organization full-time from 2012 to 2016 as an in-house Graphic Designer. During my time there, I helped improve fundraising by over 40% with engaging messaging to empower their already enthusiastic donor base and staff, creating leverage against their nation-wide competitors.

And we won two Telly Awards in 2013.

Embrocation Cycling

Every Embrocation reader is an enthusiast who knows about suffering on the bike. Readers soak up meticulously-crafted editorial, limited edition merchandise collaborations and tightly curated social media. When the independently owned magazine asked me to help them take their branding, editorial and online experience the next level, I kept it simple: Consistent, bold, and minimal design that challenges and celebrates the fans, a great CMS that doesn’t require a staff of Engineers to update quickly from anywhere and exclusive products that can’t be found anywhere else.

Scooterworks USA

I worked as a Graphic Designer for Chicago based parts catalog, dealership and manufacturer, Scooterworks USA from 2007 until 2010. My proudest and most succesful accomplishments include designing our 130 page retail and 260 page dealership parts catalogs, product photography for over 5,000 SKUS, designing regular sales advertisements for print and email. Designing a wide range of promotional and collateral, product design, package design, and working directly with international manufacturers and printers in China, Taiwan, Italy, Germany, India and Pakistan.

Spooky Bikes

For the legendary Spooky Bikes I was approached by new management in 2016 to help revitalise and relaunch the company with art direction and design execution. We had a great time unleashing these hand-made in the USA bikes to a faithful fanbase in addition to reaching a whole new generation of  discerning competitive riders who crave custom hand-made aluminum Road, Cyclocross and Mountain Bikes.
